cybernation is not the way!

"The Venus Project calls for a cybernated society in which computers could replace the outmoded system of electing politicians that in most cases represent the entrenched vested interests. This new technology will not dictate or monitor individual's lives, as in The Venus Project this would be consider socially offensive and counterproductive. Books such as 1984 and Brave New World, and motion pictures such as Blade-Runner and Terminator 2 have spawned fear in some people regarding the takeover of technology in our society. The Venus Project's only purpose is to elevate the spiritual and intellectual potential of all people, while at the same time providing the goods and services that will meet their individual and material needs. Dude…these people are out there. They’re making plans and doing research. They’re being funded by people with LOTS of money. They want computers to run the world. Forget Blade Runner and Terminator 1, 2, 3, 4 & possibly 5…haven’t they seen 2001 Space Odyssey? Haven’t they seen Silent Running? Haven’t they seen ZARCON??? No wait…ZARDOZ??? With the great Sean Connery???? I mean, immortals vs mortals? Give me a break. It’s a future distopia vs utopia scenario. A society run by “immortals” or rather cybernetic CLONES (that’s my special spin. Lol)! The “Brutals”, savage human beings, who are kept out of this utopia, are told they would join the “Eternals” in death (once they cross the vortex) and live immortally.

Of course, the minute just ONE of them learns to read the whole world falls apart, the vortex get’s all honked up and giant heads explode.

Man that was a great movie.
